Mark your calendars for a clucking good time at the SECOND ANNUAL Kelleys Island Wine Co. Chicken Derby, now known as Drumstick Downs! 🐔🏁 Last year's feathery frenzy was just the beginning. Join us again on May 5th, 2024, as our beloved barnyard athletes strut their stuff on the pea gravel track beneath the KIWC tent.
The race starts at 4:37 PM sharp, with our seasoned chicken competitors vying for the coveted title. Our panel of esteemed chicken judges will be back to crown the swiftest of the flock. Remember, this spectacle is all in jest, so if we end up with a “SCRATCH,” it's all part of the fun!
Arrive early to get a glimpse of the racers, choose your champion, and maybe, just maybe, they'll bring you that winner's luck.
And of course, it wouldn't be Derby Day without the traditional festivities. Don your most dapper hat, enjoy a mint julep, and delight in our Derby Day Specials. Will last year's champion hold onto the title, or will a new chicken nugget of speed claim the victory?
